On Thursday, August 22nd, Hackney Library/Barton college will hold its Annual Open House. The event, which is open to the public, will be held from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm on the first floor of Hackney Library. The Open House theme will center on this year's Freshman Read and the Wilson Reads, UNBROKEN: A WORLD WAR II STORY OF SURVIVAL, RESILIENCE AN REDEMPTION by Laura Hillenbrand, which features the triumphs and tribulations of Louis Zamperini, American Olympic Athlete and World War II POW. In recognition of the theme, an exhibit will be on display that showcases various World War II artifacts from the college's own archives, highlighting life of those here on campus during the same period of Samperini's life depicted in UNBROKEN.
